Born and raised in New York City,
Composer/Pianist Daryl Johnson studied music at Five Towns College in Long Island and Old Westbury University under the tutelage of such jazz greats as multi-reedist Makanda Ken Mcintyre, percussionist Warren Smith, and Trombonist Dick Griffin to name a few.
Daryl also studied at Harlem's famed Jazz Mobile where had the pleasure of learning from jazz pianist Ronnie Matthews, Amina Claudine-Myers, Norman Simmons and Dennis Moorman.

For his second CD Daryl expands his composer wings and delves into the New Age genre with "Majestic Rivers" a mystical musical endeavor that explores music composed for inner peace.
Daryl's next release "Mecca" a solo piano project and "Been So Long" jazz album is in the works for 2020 and promises to expand upon his first two offerings this time mixing in vocals and adding elements of Neo-Soul into his jazz mixture.
